Join a four-month circle for artists, musicians, and writers to awaken the muse. Through Carly Jo Carson’s improvised breath and sound journeys and collaborative practices, Mirror Journey Work becomes a living mirror shaped by the wisdom of the group, inviting clarity, creative renewal, and meaningful inner imagery you can carry back into your work and your life.
Join us on the Spring Equinox for a unique inner journey through breath and sound with Carly Jo Carson, deepened by the medicinal essences of plants, artfully blended by Leanne Hirsh of Perfumera Curandera, and supported by herbal rest beds curated byEve Gaines of Rituel—to invite deep communion, relaxation, and release.
Carly Jo has chosen the Rituel Nature Refuge to debut her newest music—born from the ashes of losing her home in the Palisades Fire—because this land, too, rests within the burn zone. Here, together, we can experience the vibrant regrowth and regeneration rising from the scorched mountaintop, a living reflection of resilience.
She will be introducing a new, more contemplative style of journeying—an offering to help us integrate the shifts we are all experiencing.
Rituel Nature Refuge will provide everything you need to enjoy this experience: mats, blankets, and pillows. If you’d like, you can also bring:
Warm layers (the temperature drops significantly after sunset)
An extra sheepskin or blanket — this is a fully immersive journey, and comfort is essential
A journal for reflections

Pristine Awareness: Decorating Your Experience with Dzogchen Master Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche
Retreatat The Mirror at Meander Canyon in Pioneertown

Through Rinpoche’s profound teachings and step-by-step guided meditation instructions, we will learn powerful techniques to uncover the spacious, expansive vibrancy of our natural state of mind. These methods support the cultivation of unconditional happiness and help us blend meditation practice into daily life. Rinpoche will illuminate our pristine awareness and demonstrate how we may decorate our mind, transforming our everyday reality into an extraordinary experience.
Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche is a meditation master in the Dzogchen lineage of the Buddhist tradition. He studied for nine years at Larung Gar in Serta, Eastern Tibet, with his teacher, Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. A long-time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Orgyen Chowang Rinpoche has been a lecturer at Stanford University, is the founder and spiritual director of Pristine Mind Foundation, and is the author of Our Pristine Mind: A Practical Guide to Unconditional Happiness.
The Mirror Journey Work is a unique and ever-evolving improvisational practice that weaves breath, sound, and the wisdom of the group into a living mirror, revealing who we are and how our gifts serve the greater fabric of existence. The heavily layered original soundtracks invoke healing, transformation, and remembrance — offering a pathway for people to awaken the heart, ignite creativity and purpose, and connect with the divine without any external substances. These journeys invite participants to witness the beauty that continually arises within life’s natural cycles of expansion and contraction, death and rebirth.
What to bring:
There will be mats, pillows, light blankets and eye masks.
Please dress comfortably and wear layers (temperature can dramatically fluctuate during breathwork)
Bring a journal, water bottle, and additional blanket or sheepskin if you like to journey in comfort! You will be laying down for the duration of the journey.
